Swimming

Come along and make a splash in our 25 metre pool with depths ranging from 1 metre to 2 metres and the fastest flume on the West Coast. After a hard day, what better way to relax and re-vitalise than in our Sauna. The teaching pool has warm shallow water and a gentle sloping floor, ideal for beginners and young children. To add to the fun, there is a toddler's 'Dolphin slide'. Our pools really have got something for everyone. Whatever age and ability you are, we know you'll have a 'splashing' time.

The Gallery Area runs alongside the pools to enable spectators to watch the fun in the pool.

Aqua Tots

Taking the plunge can be a bit daunting, especially with a young child. So, we have introduced Aqua Tots to the pool timetable. Aqua Tots sessions take place in our small pool and are aimed at Early Years (0-5 years) children and their parents. These sessions are NOT teacher led however the pool will be filled with toys and swim aids to help your little ones explore and gain confidence in the water through fun play.  Why not come along, have fun, meet new friends and help your youngsters gain confidence in the water.

Class is the same price as an adult swim.

Days and times may change due to other bookings in the pool, therefore we recommend that you check our weekly Pool Timetable before planning your visit. Our weekly Pool Timetable can be viewed from the button above. Aqua Tots will not run during the holidays.

Additional Support Needs (ASN) Sessions

Our additional support needs (ASN) sessions are open to individuals with additional support needs plus their carer and family. These are quieter, more relaxed sessions offering adapted equipment if required.

Swimming Guidelines for Safety

It is our lifeguard’s duty of care to carry out a swim test on anyone they think cannot swim 50m competently.
A swim test requires a swimmer to swim 50m (two lengths) in a recognised stroke. This must be competently, without stopping and tread water for 30 seconds. Only once this is passed can a child over 8 swim without adult supervision.

  • All children under the age of 8, children with a disability and any children over the age of 8 who are weak or non-swimmers, must be accompanied into the water by a responsible adult aged 16 or over.

  • All non/weak swimmers must not go beyond the 1.3 mark in the main pool, with or without an adult. Our lifeguards have a duty of care to carry out a swim test if a swimmer is beyond the 1.3m, see above for swim test details.

  • Only swimmers who are over the age of 8 and can swim 50m can gain entry to our pool inflatable sessions with or without an adult. Our lifeguards may swim test for these sessions.

  • If you have any conditions such as epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, or heart condition please bring it to the attention of the lifeguard.

  • Unruly behavior in and around the pool is strictly forbidden. Running, ducking, bombing, or acrobatics are not allowed.

  • Never swim under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Avoid holding your breath and swimming long distance under the water.

Be safe at all times. Be aware of other swimmers especially weak or non-swimmers. If you see someone in difficulty, alert a lifeguard immediately.

For swimming pool family and child admission policy, please see the button below.

All of our lifeguards are trained to the RLSS Pool Lifeguard standard. They are in attendance to look after your safety while you enjoy a swim. They have a duty of care to question your swimming ability if they think you are not a strong swimmer.
